Overview

David Wade is a partner in Snow+Snow’s restructuring and finance practice in Chicago, where he represents debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditor committees, and buyers of distressed assets in complex bankruptcy and out-of-court restructuring proceedings. His practice spans Chapter 11 reorganizations, pre-packaged bankruptcies, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and distressed M&A transactions across the energy, healthcare, retail, and financial services sectors.

Background

David has been involved in some of the largest energy sector restructurings of the past decade, representing parties across the capital stack in proceedings involving upstream operators, oilfield services companies, and power generators. He has particular expertise in the treatment of executory contracts in energy bankruptcies, including the interplay between midstream gathering agreements and the bankruptcy estate.

David is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association, and has spoken at the ABI Annual Spring Meeting on energy sector restructuring topics. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law.
